Location
Reviews and Ratings
The hotel had serious cleanliness and maintenance issues. The rooms were in poor condition, with tiles falling off the wall and a courtyard in disrepair. The location had an unpleasant first impression with rubbish scattered around. The dining experience did not match the advertised full English and continental breakfast. Service was inconsistent, with conflicting information about check-out times.
The hotel offers mixed experiences with clean and well-equipped rooms but falls short in terms of service quality. The location has its perks but lacks proper maintenance in certain areas.
Upon arrival, the room had a strong, off-putting odor, and the decor looked worn out. I had to pay extra to get a decent room, as the initial one was unacceptable. The bathroom fan was noisy, and the TV remote didn't work. However, the location was picturesque despite some overgrown areas, but the service was disappointing, with unfriendly staff and a disturbing atmosphere. The dining experience was lackluster, offering only a meager continental selection.
The rooms were better than I expected, and the Christmas party was great. The hotel is located across a car park in another annex, which was a bit unexpected but the rooms were nice enough. The service, especially from Paul, was exceptional, making us feel very welcome and providing excellent assistance. The location was convenient, walkable to the train station for a reasonable price into London. The dining was very basic, not worth the extra cost for the poor selection. The facilities were adequate, though could use improvement in some areas.
The hotel is in a convenient location, but there were some initial confusion in finding reception. The rooms were small with a single bed, and it would be a plus if blackout blinds were used. The staff were polite but not very helpful, though welcoming and knowledgeable. Dining options were limited, and the breakfast selection wasn't to my liking. However, the hotel offers free parking and excellent Wi-Fi. The surroundings were unkempt in some areas, and the driveway was not well-lit at night, leading to some confusion.
The hotel had a mix of positive and negative points during my stay. The rooms felt a little tacky initially, but after a complaint, I was moved to a cleaner and better standard room which was good. The service was lacking with rude and unorganized staff, causing some inconvenience. The location wasn't the best and had some drawbacks, yet there were some basic dining options available. Overall, there were both upsides and downsides to my experience at this hotel.
